![]() ![]() With an operation mode comparable to Inno330, a social enterprise cafe that offers workplace training for people in recovery of mental illness, we strive to equip NCS youngsters with job-related soft skills, as well as the common job etiquette in Hong Kong’s predominantly Chinese-speaking workplace. Trilingcal is a training group that targets non-Chinese-speaking (NCS) youngsters, to whom we provide job-related education with trilingual learning materials. The story of UNI Green was also featured by RTHK, HK01, am730, Sing Tao, Yahoo!, Metro Broadcast, Metro Pop, and Parenting Headlines. Among these products, the ones designed with old uniforms through the project of UNI Green even won the DFA Design for Asia Award 2022 and Hong Kong Smart Design Award 2022. ![]() In 2022, Dress Green upcycled over 1,000 products and created over 1,000 hours of working opportunities for local elderly and housewives. This initiative not only reduces uniform waste, but also creates meaningful employment opportunities for disadvantaged individuals and educates the community about sustainable fashion. Some uniforms are also used in upcycling workshops that serve to educate students and staff members about upcycling. Unlike most graduation and corporate souvenirs that are mass-produced, UNI Green’s locally produced keepsakes are uniquely designed according to the motifs and colours specific to each supplying uniform. After collecting unsold and/or unsaleable uniforms from the organisations, UNI Green hires job-seeking individuals - mostly from the disadvantaged community - to help give these uniforms a new life as souvenirs and stitched products. Believing in the uniqueness of uniforms, UNI Green is a programme that aims to lengthen the retail life cycles of overstock uniforms from schools and other uniformed corporates. One of Dress Green’s initiatives is UNI Green, of which the name “UNI” stands for “Uniform” and “Unique”. In addition, the Intellectual Property Department of the HKSAR Government will sponsor the winning team of the Social Ambassador IP Award to join the Youth Co:Lab Summit which is co-led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Citi Foundation.įounded in 2021 and incubated by Hong Kong Design Centre, Dress Green is a design-driven social enterprise that promotes sustainable development through creativity. Each member of the two Champion Teams will receive a Startup Award of $75,000, while members of the 1st Runner-up Teams will receive $37,500 each. The Champion and 1st Runner-up Teams will be awarded a startup prize money that will enable them to implement the first phase of their business plan for their social enterprise under mentorship. Other awards include Best Presentation, Most Innovative Idea and Timely Impact Award (one team each). Starting from 2020, the Timely Impact Award with a total amount of HK$50,000 will be given to the team with the business idea that is most relevant in addressing a current challenge of Hong Kong in the particular year. ![]() In the Grand Final, judges will select two Champion teams and two 1st Runner-ups teams. All Semi-Final teams will be eligible to compete for the Best Presentation (Semi-Final) award. ![]()
